Ingredients for Pepperoni Bread
- Refrigerated pizza dough
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Sliced pepperoni
- Butter
- Garlic powder
- Oregano
- Basil
- Red pepper flakes
- Marinara sauce
How to Make Pepperoni Bread
1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 375 F.
2. Carefully unroll the pizza dough onto a floured surface (it should be a rectangle that measures about 10×15 inches).
3. Starting at one of the long ends, overlap pepperoni slices with provolone half-slices over the whole length of the dough and roll the dough over them.
4. Place a second row of pepperoni and cheese and roll the dough over them. Continue doing this until you finish rolling all the dough and form a log. Pinch the edges to secure the seam.
5. Place the log on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
6. Melt the butter and mix in the garlic powder, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.
7. Brush the butter mixture all over the roll and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let it rest for 3-5 minutes before cutting into slices. Serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping.
Can I Make Pepperoni Bread Ahead of Time?
To save some time, you can roll the bread, place it on the baking sheet, cover it with plastic wrap, and store it in the fridge overnight. Brush it with butter and bake right before serving. Remember to let it rest before slicing to avoid the cheese from oozing out.

Can I Freeze Pepperoni Bread?
You absolutely can! You can freeze it baked or unbaked. If freezing the unbaked bread, make sure to wrap it three times with plastic wrap and once with foil before freezing it, to prevent freezer burn.
If freezing the baked bread, wait until it cools down completely. You can either freeze it whole or sliced. If you’re freezing slices, place them in a freezer-safe zipper bag and if you’re freezing the whole bread, wrap it twice with plastic wrap and once with foil before placing in the freezer.

Can you prepare it a day in advance and cook it the next day?

Don, I’ve never tried that, but I think if you wrap the finished roll tightly in plastic wrap and tin foil, it should be fine. You might also need to leave it in the oven for a few extra minutes since it will be cold when you put it in.
