Ingredients For Air Fryer Protein Bagels
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- 2 % small-curd cottage cheese
- Egg wash (egg + water)
- Toppings like everything bagel, dry minced onion, toasted sesame seeds, and black sesame seeds
How to Make Air Fryer Protein Bagels
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cottage cheese and mix until all the flour has been incorporated.

- Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll them into balls.
- Dip your index finger into the flour, and stick it into the middle of each ball. Move your finger rapidly in a circular motion until you make a 1-inch hole in the middle of each ball.
- Brush the bagels with egg wash and sprinkle your favorite toppings over them.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300 F and line the basket with parchment paper.
- Place the bagels into the preheated air fryer and cook them for 15-20 minutes until golden and cooked through. Do it in batches of two if your air fryer is small.
- Let the bagels cool down for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Can I Use Whole Wheat Flour?
Yes, you can. You can eat only whole wheat, or half and half. You can also use a gluten-free flour mix if you can’t tolerate gluten.
Is The Dough Supposed To Be Sticky?
This is a soft dough. It may be a bit sticky, so add enough flour to the surface on which you’re kneading the dough. Don’t worry if the dough is still a bit sticky, just be gentle when handling it.
How to Store Protein Bagels?
Once the bagels have cooled down completely, you can store them in an airtight container. If you plan to keep them for more than a day, store them in the refrigerator.
What Are Some Good Toppings for Bagels?
- Everything bagel seasoning
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Black sesame seeds
- Dry minced onion
- Dry minced garlic
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Shredded Parmesan cheese
