Can I Make Chocolate Lasagna Ahead of Time?

Absolutely! You can even freeze this dessert until ready to save. Assemble your lasagna, cover with plastic wrap once if you will keep it refrigerated and twice if frozen. If you freeze the chocolate lasagna, remove it from the freezer about 20 minutes before serving to allow it to thaw.

What Other Ingredients Can I Add to my Chocolate Lasagna?

  • Add a layer of chopped Oreo cookies
  • You can add a different-flavored pudding layer between the chocolate fudge pudding and Cool Whip layers.
  • Shaved chocolate looks impressive when added on top!
  • Adding a fourth layer of fruit pie filling like strawberry or cherry would result in a very impressive dessert.

Chocolate Lasagna FAQs
What kind of pudding should I use for chocolate lasagna?

Always use instant chocolate pudding mix for this recipe. Unlike Cook & Serve pudding, which requires stovetop cooking, instant pudding sets quickly by mixing with cold milk, no heat needed. It saves time and delivers the perfect creamy texture for chocolate lasagna layers.

Can I substitute different types of Oreos?

Classic regular Oreos work best for the crust and topping. Avoid Double Stuf Oreos the extra filling tends to make the crust too soft and oily. If you’re feeling creative, try using mint Oreos or peanut butter Oreos for a fun flavor twist.

Can chocolate lasagna be frozen?

Yes! Chocolate lasagna freezes well. Simply cover it tightly and freeze for up to 2 months. When ready to serve, let it thaw at room temperature until slightly softened for the best texture.
