I love one-pan meals, and this one is consumed on repeat at my house several times a month, that’s how much my family loves it!

  • Lean ground beef
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Uncooked long-grain white rice
  • Condensed French onion soup
  • Beef consomme
  • Unsalted butter
  • Parsley flakes
  • Green onions

How to Make Hamburger Rice Casserole

Ingredients for Hamburger Rice Casserole

    1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and preheat the oven to 375 F.

    2. Cook the ground beef, onions, and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink.

    3. Spoon the cooked ground beef into the baking dish. Sprinkle the rice over the meat, and pour the soups and consomme on top. Mix with a fork or spatula until well combined and place the butter pats evenly on top. Sprinkle parsley flakes over the whole casserole.

    4. Cover with foil and bake for 30 mins. Remove the foil and cook for 30 minutes more or until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.

    5. Serve with sliced green onions on top.

Yes, this dish freezes well. Let the casserole cool down completely and store in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. Let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight, and on the counter for 20 minutes before reheating in a 350 F covered with foil. You may need to add a splash of water before reheating.

  • 2 green onions, sliced
