Layers of oreo cookies, cream cheese filling, lemon pudding, and whipped topping combine for an amazing summer delight!

Ingredients for Lemon Oreo Dessert

  • Golden oreo cookies
  • Salted butter
  • Instant lemon pudding
  • Milk
  • Cool whip
  • Cream cheese
  • Lemon juice
  • Powdered sugar

How to Make Lemon Oreo Dessert

Heavenly Lemon Oreo Dessert recipe

    1. Pulse the oreo cookies in a food processor until crushed. Reserve ¾ cup of the crushed cookies as topping.

    2. Place the rest of the crushed cookies in a medium-sized bowl and mix with the melted butter. Gently press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch greased baking dish. This will be the crust and base of your dessert.

    3. In a second medium-sized bowl, whisk the lemon pudding and the milk for about a minute until well combined. Refrigerate for at least 5 minutes until firm.

    4. Using a hand-held or stand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in  the lemon juice and powdered sugar. Gently fold in one container of cool whip until well combined.

    5. Spoon the cream mixture over the cookie crust and spread until it covers the whole crust.

    6. Spread the lemon pudding over the cream cheese mixture evenly.

    7. Add spoonfuls of the remaining tub of Cool Whip over the lemon pudding and carefully smooth it over the whole surface.

    8. Sprinkle with the reserved crushed cookies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Can I Freeze Lemon Oreo Dessert?

Yes, you can freeze this dessert. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and foil, and freeze for up to 2 months. To serve, let it thaw out enough to be able to cut and serve it.

You can also keep this dessert in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap, for up to 4 days.

Can I Use Other Pudding Flavors?

You can make this dessert with any flavor you wish.

You can use chocolate-flavored pudding and use regular chocolate-flavored oreos.

Use pumpkin-flavored pudding, ginger snap cookies instead of oreos, and mix pumpkin puree into the cream cheese filling.

Banana cream pudding can also be used with the golden oreos.
