Ingredients for Slow Cooker Country Style Pork Ribs
- Country style pork ribs. These are boneless pork ribs cut from the pork shoulder, and since they don’t have bones, you get your money’s worth.
- Onion to flavor the cooking juice for these meaty ribs.
- Coca cola. Please use regular coke because sugar will help caramelize the edges of the ribs.
- Barbecue sauce. Use your favorite brand and flavor, except honey barbecue. The sugar content in coke is enough to make the gravy sweet.
- Garlic powder and paprika. Season the ribs before placing them in the slow cooker.
- Salt and pepper to season the ribs before you place them in the slow cooker.
How to Make Slow Cooker Country Style Pork Ribs
1. Season the ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Place them in the pot of your slow cooker.
2. Pour the coke and barbecue sauce over the ribs.
3. Place the sliced onions over the ribs, and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4.
Can I Freeze Country Style Pork Ribs?
Yes, you can freeze them for up to 3 months. Let the fully cooked ribs cool down completely and store them in an airtight container or freezer bag.
To reheat, place them in the refrigerator overnight to thaw, then reheat in the microwave. For crispy edges, place them under the broiler for a few minutes after reheating them.
The leftovers can be stored for up to 4 days in the fridge.
How to Serve Country Style Pork Ribs?
I like to shred the meat from these ribs, mix them with the cooking juice, and use them to make sandwiches. Let the gravy cool down, remove the top layer fat, and use it for dipping the sandwiches.
