Ingredients for Honey Garlic Chicken
- Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper
- Flour
- Butter
- Olive oil
- Garlic
- Apple cider vinegar
- Soy sauce
- Honey
- Red pepper flakes
- Parsley flakes
How to Make Honey Garlic Chicken
1. To make thin chicken cutlets, cut the chicken breasts in half horizontally. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Dredge in the chicken in flour, shaking off the excess. This is an important part. You want a thin coating of flour.
3. Heat the oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, brown the chicken cutlets for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden in color. Turn down the heat to medium.
4. Make a little room and add the garlic and remaining tbsp of butter to the skillet. Cook for 30 seconds.
5. Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, honey, parsley flakes, and red pepper flakes. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes turning the chicken to coat with the sauce and the sauce turns into a glaze.
6. Serve immediately with freshly cooked rice.
Can I Use Chicken Thighs?
Yes, if you like dark meat better, use boneless, skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts. Just remember these take a little longer to cook than chicken breasts.
