WHAT IS MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST?

It is called that way because a housewife from Mississippi was the first ever to make it. Her friends and family loved the flavor and how easy it was to make, so it became very popular within her community. As time went by, its popularity crossed state borders and people started calling it Mississippi roast.

This easy recipe uses only 5 ingredients and needs no prepping while yielding a very flavorful and tender roast. No wonder why it’s so popular!

It’s easy as 1,2,3.

    1. Place the pot roast inside the crockpot

    2. Open a packet of au jus gravy mix and one of ranch dressing mix. Sprinkle them on top of the roast.

    3. Place ⅓ cup sliced pepperoncini peppers, 2 tablespoons of pepperoncini juice, and 4 oz of butter on top. Place the lid on and cook on low for 8 hours.

Do not add any water to the crockpot. The juices from the meat and the butter are enough to make a flavorful gravy.
