No-Bake Turtle Dream Bars

Ingredients for No-Bake Turtle Dream Bars

  • Chocolate Oreo cookies
  • Butter
  • Instant chocolate pudding
  • Milk
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cool Whip
  • Chopped pecans
  • Caramel sauce
  • Chocolate syrup

How to Make No-Bake Turtle Dream Bars

    1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal and slicing.

    2. Make the cookie crust: place the crushed oreo cookies in a medium-sized bowl and mix with the melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of the pan, covering it completely. Place in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden.

    3. Make the pudding: mix the instant chocolate pudding mix with 1 ½ cups milk until well combined. Place it in the refrigerator to set.

    4. Make the cream cheese mixture: using a hand-held or stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl. Gently fold in 1 cup of Cool Whip using a rubber spatula, until smooth and well combined.

    5. Assemble the bars: remove the cookie crust from the freezer and place dollops of the cream cheese mixture over it. Spread them into an even layer using an offset spatula.

    6. Place dollops of chocolate pudding over the cream cheese mixture and spread evenly to the sides of the pan to create an even layer.

    7. Drizzle ⅓ cup of caramel sauce over the chocolate pudding and top with ¾ cup of chopped pecans.

    8. Top with the remaining Cool Whip to create an even layer over the caramel and pecans. Place into the refrigerator or freezer for at least 4 hours to set.

    9. Remove the bars using the excess parchment paper and cut with a sharp knife. Top with caramel sauce, chocolate syrup, and chopped pecans.

Can I Freeze No-Bake Turtle Dream Bars?

Absolutely! I like to serve this dessert frozen rather than refrigerated. I think the bars are easier to slice and serve when frozen, and they thaw out very quickly, so I recommend freezing them before serving.
