I always have Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe in my freezer. Ingredients for Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork
- Pork shoulder
- Beer
- Brown sugar
- Paprika
- Chili powder
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Mustard powder
- Ground cumin
- Ground coriander
- Salt
- Pepper
- Ketchup
- Apple cider vinegar
- Molasses
- Honey
- Worcestershire sauce
- Parsley flakes
How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and pepper. This is your dry rub.
- Cover the pork shoulder entirely with the dry rub and place in the slow cooker.
- Pour the beer on top and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
- Make the BBQ sauce: in a medium-sized saucepan, combine the ketchup, vinegar, molasses, honey, mustard powder, onion powder, garlic powder, mustard powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 15 mins.
- After the pork shoulder has cooked for 10 hours, drain any liquid still in the slow cooker, and shred the meat using two forks. Try to remove as much of the fat attached to the meat as possible.
- Mix in the BBQ sauce and enjoy!
Can I Freeze Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork?
Yes, and I think it’s a great idea! Wait until the pulled pork has cooled down, divide into portions (so you can thaw just what you need), place into freezer bags, and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave as needed.
