It’s easily one of our favorite dishes in my family. So delicious that you can feel it melting in your mouth and the taste is credible. It’s not complicated as it may seems from the instruction but it’s actually very simple and tastes incredible
Ingredients For Lasagna Recipe :
- Olive oil: to saute garlic and onions.
- Onion: to add flavor to the beef/tomato sauce.
- Minced garlic: or garlic powder instead would also do the job.
- Ground beef: for a perfect bolognese sauce. But you can also make it with ground pork, ground turkey or Italian sausage.
- Ground pork: Italian sausage is recommended if you want your lasagna lasagna recipe to be more traditional.
- Chopped tomatoes and tomato paste: to bring a rich tomato flavor.
- Ricotta cheese: to make an incredibly creamy layer.
- Sugar: To elevate the flavor of the tomatoes in the bolognese sauce.
- Dried basil and dried oregano: Italian seasonings instead are also recommended.
- Crushed red pepper flakes: You can ignore this one if you don’t like the little spicy taste.
- Lasagna sheets: Cook the sheets until al dente for this simple lasagna recipe.
- Mozzarella cheese: The best cheese for lasagna.
How To Make homemade Lasagna Recipe?
1. Turn on your oven to 375 F.
2. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large frying pan. Saute the onion for 4-5 minutes after you add it, after that you add the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until it’s aromatic.
3. Place in your ground pork and beef to cook until brown. Get rid of the leftover fat, add in salt and pepper for seasoning.
4. Transfer in your tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, crushed red pepper flakes, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Cover it with your lid and let it stew for 30 minutes, while mixing from time to time. Then take it out of the heat.
5. Boil a big pot of water, throw in your lasagna sheets and following your packaging instructions, boil until par-cooked
6. Mix the egg, ricotta cheese, dried basil, and salt in a bowl. Put that to the side.
7. In a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or grease, pour in some of your bolognese sauce, and equally coat the bottom of your pan. Put 3 lasagna sheets on top of that.
8. Cover the top of your sheets with 1/3 of what’s left of your bolognese. Top that with 1/3 of the ricotta mix. And pepper 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese.
9. Redo that same process again, ( put 3 cooked lasagna sheets, ⅓ of bolognese sauce on top, then ⅓ of the ricotta mix ).
10. To finish off, place the 3 leftover lasagna sheets, the bolognese, your ricotta mix, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, and the parmesan.
11. Use foil to cover your baking pan, and cook it in your oven, for 40 minutes. Afterwards, take your foil off, and bake it for around 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is completely melted. Cut your lasagna portions and savor it!

According to the size of the baking pan and the quantity of filling you have, the number of layers may differ. We typically make 3 layers in a lasagna, however, 4 layers is just as flavorful.

- ¼ cup of Parmesan.
