How To Make Marry Me Chicken Pasta Recipe

    1. Boil the pasta until al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    2. Season the chicken cubes with salt and pepper.

    3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken cubes. Brown for 7-8 minutes, or until fully cooked. Transfer to a bowl and keep warm.

    4. To the same skillet, add 3 tbsp butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and saute for 30 seconds. Then, add the flour and cook for 30 seconds more.

    5. Whisk in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for about 3 minutes, whisking occasionally until the sauce has thickened a little.

    6. Stir in the Italian seasoning, parsley flakes, paprika, and red pepper flakes.

    7. Add the julienned and drained sun-dried tomatoes, cooked chicken, and cooked pasta, and cook for a few minutes until heated through. Check the seasoning and add more salt if needed.

    8. Add the fresh basil and serve immediately.

Do I Have To Use Oil-Packed Sun-Dried Tomatoes?

Absolutely not. You can use sun-dried tomatoes not packed in oil. If you do, add them with the chicken broth, cream, and Parmesan cheese so they soften up while the sauce is thickening.

Can I Freeze Marry Me Chicken Pasta?

It is not recommended to freeze cream-based pasta dishes. Not only does the pasta texture change once thawed, but the fat in the sauce might separate and create an undesired texture in the sauce.

How to Store Marry Me Chicken Pasta?

If you have leftovers or want to make this pasta ahead of time, let it cool down completely and place it in an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can reheat it in the microwave or in a pan on the stovetop. If the sauce has become too thick, add a splash of chicken broth before reheating.
