Most of us really love chicken, but what about some sticky, tasty, and sugary Hawaiian chicken fried with a coat of egg and cornstarch? It is one of my personal favorites. Mixed in with a bit of pineapple juice, chopped garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, a dash of sriracha sauce for spice, and baked to perfection.
What makes the sauce perfectly stick to your chicken is the cornstarch, as it thickens it, and helps it grab onto these succulent sweet Hawaiian chicken pieces.
The dish is finished off by adding a bit of pineapple and red bell pepper pieces. To take your recipe to a new level and accompany it with some delicious white rice, or step out of the box altogether, and make it into some tasty fried rice.

How To Make Hawaiian Chicken?
1. Turn on your oven to 350 F. Your chicken pieces are to be seasoned with some salt and pepper, and well coated and covered with your cornstarch mix. One way to do this is transferring the chicken to a ziplock bag full of cornstarch, and shaking them around until well saturated, all at once or one by one.
2. Turn on heat to medium on your cast-iron or an oven-safe frying pan. Meanwhile, transfer the chicken into your beaten eggs and coat your pieces.
3. Pour your oil into the frying pan and wait until hot. Now place your chicken pieces in and fry them until brown.
4. To prepare the sauce, combine the pineapple juice, chopped garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sriracha, cornstarch, and stir well.
5. Drizzle your sauce on top of the chicken. and dust with your minced red bell pepper and pineapple. Cook it in the oven for an hour, making sure they are drenched in sauce by mixing them each 15 minutes.

What To Serve with Hawaiian Chicken?
When it comes to sides, nothing tops a good plate of white rice for me, but you can make a well balanced meal by accompanying your sweet hawaiian chicken with some steamed broccoli. Something lemon based like Mini Lemon Drop Cakes and Creamy Lemon Squares would also be a great fit for dessert!
Cooking Tips
You will be needing the juice you drain from the pineapple can for the sauce.
For the perfect browning on your chicken, your frying pan should be hot before you add the oil in, and the oil should be hot enough before transferring your chicken in.
For that ideal stickiness to your chicken, it is important to turn it in the sauce every 15 minutes when cooking in the oven allowing it to caramelize.

- 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cut into pieces of 1 inch each
- Salt and pepper to liking
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 2 beaten eggs
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 cup of pineapple juice (the juice drained from tidbits can)
- ⅓ cup of brown sugar
- ⅓ cup of soy sauce
- 2 chopped garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon of sriracha
- ½ tablespoon of cornstarch
- 1 minced red bell pepper
- 1 drained can of pineapple tidbits of 20 ounces
- 3 minced green onions
Instructions

- Turn the heat on an oven-safe frying pan or cast-iron, pour in the oil, once it is hot, place in your chicken pieces to brown them.
- Combine the pineapple juice, chopped garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, sriracha, and cornstarch, and pour your sauce on the chicken. In the pan, throw in the minced red bell pepper and pineapple too. Cook in your oven for an hour, while continually tossing them each 15 minutes, to saturate your pieces with sauce. When setting up your table, serve with some white rice and green onions.
