Pasta salad is always a go-to during summer. Put a spit on it with this tasty BLT Pasta Salad with lettuce, farfalle pasta, bacon, creamy dressing, and tomatoes. It’s like a BLT sandwich in a bowl.

  • Pasta: Any medium pasta is good, like bow tie paste (farfalle);
  • Romaine lettuce: It’s what I use for this recipe but you can also go for iceberg;
  • Tomatoes: I usually use grape or vibe, but you can use any kind you like;
  • Bacon: turkey can be used as well;
  • Red onion: If you’re not a fan of raw onion, skip this;
  • Ranch dressing: It’s the base for your dressing;
  • Sour cream: You can skip this but it gives your salad a nice creaminess and flavor;
  • Mayonnaise: A key component in a BLT sandwich, if gives the dressing that staple feel;
  • Apple cider vinegar: Classic addition to every dressing, for that zest.

    1. This will quickly become your summer favorite, because who doesn’t like a BLT sandwich? It’s simple to whip up as a side for a BBQ or a get away picnic.

    2. Follow the instructions on the box and cook your pasta. Strain it, and wash lightly in cold water. Put it to the side. Prep your salad components in a bowl.

    3. In a separate bowl, combine the components to your dressing. Drizzle that over your salad. Carefully toss it to combine. Eat immediately or store in your fridge until serving.

Tips For BLT Pasta Salad!

  • I like to add red onion to all of my salads. It not only gives it great consistency and texture, but it also adds a special taste to your salad. This is optional if you’re not a fan of onions.
  • Use any medium sized pasta for this recipe. Farfalle usually looks good on salad, but Rotini has a good appearance to it too. You can add croutons if you don’t have bread in your meal.
  • It’s the perfect amount in my opinion. You can use ranch or sour cream to replace mayonnaise. Add ¾ cup of either to your salad and toss it.

Can I make it ahead of time?

If you want to premake this salad, combine all your ingredients and leave out the lettuce, and prepare your dressing to keep in a bottle or jar in your fridge. Otherwise your lettuce will welt. Put together before serving to maintain the taste and texture.

  • 2 cups of raw farfalle
  • 4 cups of minced or cut Romaine lettuce
  • 1 and ½ cups of diced tomatoes
  • 4 chopped crisped bacon strips
  • ½ cup of chopped red onion

for the dressing:

  • ¼ cup of ranch
  • ¼ cup of sour cream
  • ¼ cup of mayonnaise
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Follow the box instructions to cook your pasta. Strain it, and wash lightly in cold water. Put it to the side. (2 cups of raw farfalle).
