How To Make Amish Macaroni Salad Recipe

  • Boil elbow macaroni until it is cooked. Drain and let it cool aside. While you wait for the pasta to cook combine the dressing ingredients and mix well.
  • Mix your cooked macaroni with diced celery, eggs, sweet pepper, and finely diced onion (I prefer to use red onions).
  • Add salad dressing and mix well. the amount of salad dressing you add will depend on your taste, the pasta will absorb some of the dressing so make sure you keep this in mind.

    1. You can try any kind of pasta you prefer as long as it suits your preferences.

    2. If you don’t like your salad to be too creamy use ½ or ¾ of the dressing.

Amish macaroni salad is a luminous and fragrant salad with a creamy sweet dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 pound salad macaroni
  • 3 celery ribs, diced small
  • 4 Chopped hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 red onion (small), finely diced
  • 1 sweet pepper(small), seeded and diced small (red or orange)
  • DRESSING:
  • 2 cups of light mayonnaise (do not use Miracle Whip)
  • 1/2 cup sugar ( reduce to ¼ if you don’t like sweet salade)
  • 1/8 cup of yellow mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar or 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 tsp celery seed
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • paprika to garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta according to the instructions, and drain.
  2. Combine all dressing ingredients and mix.
  3. Combine pasta, celery, onion, diced pepper, and eggs. Pour in the dressing (adjust the amount to your liking) and mix. I recommend letting it cool in the refrigerator for an hour before serving
