  • Boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Parsley flakes
  • Dried basil
  • Dried thyme
  • Paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic cloves
  • Marsala wine
  • Water
  • Cornstarch
  • Heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley

How to Make Crock Pot Chicken Marsala

Ingredients for Crock Pot Chicken Marsala Recipe

    1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley flakes, thyme, basil, and paprika.

    2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chicken breasts for 3 minutes on each side.

    3. Transfer the chicken breasts to the pot of the slow cooker.

    4. Place the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic on top of the chicken breasts.

    5. Heat the skillet where you browned the chicken over medium-high heat and deglaze it with marsala wine, scraping the bottom to remove all the brown bits and pieces stuck to it. Let the wine boil, remove from heat, and pour over the chicken and mushrooms.

    6. Cook the chicken for 4 hours on low, or for 2 hours on high, or until fully cooked.

    7. 20 minutes before the cooking time is over, transfer the chicken to a plate, and make a slurry by mixing the water and cornstarch. Pour into the crockpot and mix in the heavy cream.

    8. Return the chicken to the crockpot and continue cooking on high for 20 minutes more until the sauce is thick.

Yes, you can! Let the chicken and sauce cool down completely, place in a freezer bag or airtight container, and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to serve, let the chicken thaw out in the refrigerator overnight, and reheat in the microwave.
