To Feed your family and friends quickly with this tasty homemade cheat’s deep dish pizza, which can also be prepared ahead and frozen, You’ll need: 

  • 1 kg store-bought bread dough, or make your own using our pizza dough recipes

Toppings:

  • 1 small red onion sliced and fried
  • Mushrooms sliced d sauteed
  • Bacon fried
  • 3 sausages sliced
  • Anchovies
  • Olives sliced
  • 60 grams of grated cheese (Mozzarella or spicy cheddar)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh herbs to seasoning ( Oregano or thyme)
  • Pizza sauce

How to Make Easy Cheats Deep Dish Pizza

You have to pre-baked the base with the sauce to ensure it would be cooked through, especially since it’s a much thicker dough. The temperature of the oven must be the maximum to have a crusty pizza. You’ve cooked sliced onion until gets soft and caramelized. Then you have to pile on the toppings.

You can use ham, bacon olives, feta, Italian herbs fresh basil oregano, thyme, and vegetables like mushrooms, courgettes, and artichokes you can also season with pepper and garlic. Ingredients

  • 1 kg store-bought bread dough, or make your own using our pizza dough recipes
  • Pizza sauce
  • Toppings: 1 small red onion sliced and fried
  • Mushrooms sliced d sauteed
  • Bacon fried
  • 3 sausages sliced
  • Anchovies
  • Olives sliced
  • 60 grams grated cheese (Mozzarella or spicy cheddar)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh herbs to seasoning ( Oregano or thyme)

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 240°C equivalent to 475°F. the oven must be full whack to create a good crust, it's a secret to having a delicious pizza.
  2. Put a large, non-stick frying pan on medium heat. Add olive oil.
  3. Peel and finely slice the red onions then add to the pan with a pinch of salt.
  4. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, or until the onions are soft and caramelized, don't stop stirring.
  5. If you are using store dough, roll it out (it must be thin) and transfer it to a rough round. if you prepare it at home, Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes then form into a rough round.
  6. Place some of the sauce and spread to cover all the dough.
  7. Bake for 5-7 minutes until the dough has risen a little.
  8. Remove the pizza dough from the oven then make little grated mozzarella.
  9. Spoon your favorite topping back over all the pizza, spreading it out on the dough, then grate over the cheese.
  10. Turn the oven heat back up to medium and cook for 5 minutes, or until the base has started to be crispy. Extend cooking time until the pizza gets golden, puffed up, and sizzling. you can add cheese if you like.
