- Breakfast sausage. Use your favorite brand and make sure you crumble it as it cooks.
- I always use large eggs. These will help bind the sauce and crust together.
- Italian seasoning for extra flavor. Don’t have it? Use your favorite dried herbs.
- Onion powder to flavor the eggs.
- Shredded cheddar or your favorite cheese like mozzarella, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or Mexican blend.
How to Make Egg and Sausage Breakfast Casserole Recipe
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with non-stick spray.
2. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. No need to add oil. Crumble it as it cooks.
3. Unroll the crescent rolls and press them into the bottom of the baking dish.
4. Spread the cooked sausage over the crescent roll dough.
5. Mix the eggs with Italian seasoning and onion powder, and pour evenly over the sausage.
