How To Make Spicy Thai Basil Chicken?

Have all your components prepped to help your dish come together and have it ready in no time.

    1. To make your sauce, use a whisk and a bowl to combine your sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chicken stock. Put that to the side.

    2. Heat your vegetable oil in a frying pan on high heat.

    3. Place in your chicken to cook for 3 minutes until it’s no longer pink.

    4. Then, transfer in your chopped garlic, chopped chilies, slices of shallots, and grated ginger. Let cook for another 3 minutes.

    5. Drizzle your sauce on top of the chicken and let it simmer until it fully goes down, glazing your chicken.

    6. Turn the heat off and stir in your cooked green beans and basil slices

    7. Side with hot white rice when serving.

What To Serve With Thai Basil Chicken?

The best dish to serve with your Thai basil chicken is white rice. Lime wedges also go really well with this recipe because of the fresh lime juice flavor.

A good drink to have with this meal is Thai iced tea, and to fully lean into the Thai authenticity, side it with some fresh green papaya salad.

Cooking Tips

  • Your frying pan needs to be hot before you start to make this recipe. A hot frying pan is what ensures the Thai stir fry magic.
  • Make sure to try the chicken after you add the sauce to it, in case it needs any more oyster sauce or soy sauce.
  • Carefully add Thai chilies to your liking, add less if you can’t handle spice and more if you like it.
  • Sliced red bell peppers can also be added for some extra vegetables.
